India’s prolific opener Hitman Rohit Sharma scored his first ODI double-century in a series-deciding ODI match against Australia in 2013. 4. Rohit Sharma 264 vs Sri Lanka, 2014

Rohit, sidelined for almost four months due to injury in 2014, then made a historic comeback against Sri Lanka by scoring the most extensive double hundred in ODI cricket history. At the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the right-hander scored tremendous 264 runs from 173 balls. Nevertheless, it is the highest individual score by a batsman in One-Day International cricket. 5. Chris Gayle 215 vs Zimbabwe, 2015 World Cup

The West Indies batsman became the first non-Indian batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket. On 24th February 2015, Chris Gayle graced as the first man in history to score a double-century in the ODI World Cup. Gayle played a massive knock of 215 off 147 balls with the assistance of 10 fours and a record 16 sixes.

He also scored the quickest double-century during his memorable knock, where he shattered the record of Sehwag after striking the 200-run mark off just 138 balls. Martin Guptill scripted records with a spectacular double century in an ODI World Cup match against West Indies in Wellington. He scored a mammoth 237 runs in just 163 balls. Guptill holds the highest individual score by any batsman in ODI World Cup History. However, Guptill faced 111 balls to score his first century and then played just 41 balls to score his subsequent hundred runs.
